Futuramo has created a fascinating visual history of computer icons.
One thing that stands out to me is the crispness of Microsoft’s Windows 3.0 icons. It’s actually remarkable how much Windows 10′s new icons remind me of the 3.x era icons largely because of their defined edges and restrained colour pallet.
